Welcome to the official website of the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (SPSO).  

We are the final stage for handling complaints about public services in Scotland.

We deal with complaints about councils, the National Health Service, housing associations, the Scottish Government and its agencies and departments, colleges and universities and most Scottish public bodies.

We normally consider complaints after they have been through the formal complaints process of the organisation concerned. After completing this process you can bring a complaint to us.  Contact us for information on how to bring a complaint to the SPSO or visit the how to complain section of our website.
