Eric Drake
Director of Investigations
Eric Drake was appointed Director of Investigations in October 2007.
From 2002, when the SPSO was established, he led in the health sector
as one of the Deputy Ombudsmen. He has worked in Ombudsman services
sinces the early 1990s, mainly with the Health Service Ombudsman for
England and the former Health Service Ombudsman for Scotland, but
also for six months on secondment with the Irish Ombudsman in Dublin.
David Robb
Director of Policy and Development
David joined the SPSO in October 2007, following 17 years in Scottish
central government. As a civil servant, he worked under Conservative,
Labour, Labour-Lib Dem coalition and SNP minority administrations, in
Westminster and then in Holyrood, in a range of policy and delivery
roles including in planning, health, local government, private office,
on secondment to help establish the Cairngorms Partnership, housing,
social inclusion, in the First Minister’s Policy Unit and, for the
last 3 years, on public service reform.
