We have produced a new leaflet to help organisations under the remit of the SPSO meet the statutory obligations of the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman Act (2002). The leaflet provides information about how and when to refer someone to the SPSO, suggested wording for complaints leaflets and letters to complainants, information about what happens when we publish an investigation report and the obligations on public bodies to publicise the outcome of our reports. It also offers guidance and information about good complaint handling.
The publication can be printed via this link and hard copies can be ordered from the Outreach Team. Please call 0800 377 7330 or email ask@spso.org.uk to request free copies.
For details of other SPSO publications and resources for public service providers please see our leaflet SPSO resources for public service providers - this can be printed via this link.
