In February 2008, we published the results of complainants' perceptions of our service. Please see our complainant survey.   

In March 2007, we published the results of joint research with the Scottish Health Council into NHS complaints. The research aimed to assess how well people who used the NHS complaints procedure understood it and what lessons could be learned as a result of their experience.

In November 2006, we carried out a small in-house pilot study to find out why some people bring their complaints to the SPSO before they have completed the complaints process of the authority concerned.  For more, please read our "premature" complaints research.
