Our next complaints improvement conference is now available to book!  The conference will focus on the recent review of the model Complaints Handling Procedure and best practice in complaint handling – especially learning from complaints.  There will be a mixture of presentations and workshops around the following themes:

Our Complaints Reviewers play a key role in our work, analysing and resolving complaints across a wide range of sectors including councils, NHS, housing associations, most water and sewerage providers, the Scottish Government and its agencies and departments, colleges and universities, prisons, and most Scottish public bodies.

Vacancy: Complaints Reviewer (public service complaints)

Contract Type: Permanent, Full time 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (35 hours per week), secondments considered

Location: Edinburgh 

Salary scale: Band 4 (£46,272 – £62,710), starting salary is normally offered at the beginning of the scale

Invitation to tender for Independent Customer Service Complaints Reviewer Services

The Ombudsman is inviting tenders for the provision of an Independent Customer Service Complaints Reviewer (ICSCR) service. The ICSCR will be responsible for investigating and responding to complaints about the service provided by the SPSO in the carrying out of its statutory functions against its customer service standards.

Based in our Assessment and Guidance team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role as the first point of contact to the SPSO and our complaints process. This involves handling incoming enquiry calls, providing relevant guidance and advice on how to make a complaint and information on the role of the SPSO.
